Fungicide cover, paddock by paddock

1. Keep your product list. Add each fungicide you use with your own residual figure. Australian labels do not publish residual days, so the number is your judgement, and the card says so.
2. Log a spray by voice. Say “Sprayed Prosaro at 450 mils on Bald Hill this morning” and AI picks out the product, the rate and the day, then matches them to your own products and paddocks. A product you have not added is never guessed at: the form asks.
3. See every paddock’s runout. “4 days left” or “Ran out 6 days ago”, soonest first, with lapses older than a month sinking to the bottom. Every state is said in words, never colour alone.
4. Read it beside disease risk. When a disease you watch is rated high and a paddock of that crop has no cover on record, the disease forecast card says how many.

You can also take days off your residuals per crop, when you judge the pressure is high.

A foliar fungicide protects the leaves that were out when it went on, for roughly two to three weeks by GRDC’s account, and the leaves that emerge afterwards are not covered at all. So a runout date is your bookkeeping, kept for you, not a promise that the crop is protected until then.
